Teslagrad is a puzzle platformer with action elements. Magnetism and other electromagnetic powers are gained throughout the game and must be used to overcome the game’s challenges and explore the long abandoned Tesla Tower. The game is set in a steampunk-inspired vision of old Europe, and through voiceless storytelling we intend to tell the story of the fall of the king of Electropia and the rise of a new (and not necessarily better) order.
GAMEPLAY:
You play as a young boy who suddenly finds himself embroiled in a long-forgotten conspiracy, involving the despotic king who has ruled the nation with an iron fist for several years. The game offers various upgrades and items as the game progresses.
In the Kingdom of Elektropia, a king rules with an iron fist, combating and destroying a sect of technological wizards who have a massive tower in the middle of the city named Teslagrad. One day, a young orphaned boy finds himself hounded by the King’s guards, fleeing into the deserted tower and uncovering the history of the conflict.
The game has received positive reviews amongst all platform. Nintendo Life praised the game for its nostalgic music, hand drawn artwork and brain bending puzzle.Nintendo World Report also praised the game for its art style, however, they criticised the game for its steep difficulty and minimal Wii U Gamepad usage.
Everything is designed very close to the theoretical limit: Platforms are often so far apart that you have to jump almost with perfect accuracy; time-critical puzzles are often designed so that even losing a fraction of second will make it impossible to do. – The physics engine produces absolutely non-reproducible results
